Rawlite OLPF BMPCC 6K (non Pro) BMPCC 4K flare investigation

Rawlite has received one report of flaring with the Rawlite Optical Low Pass Filter (OLPF) for the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K (not the Pro version) and the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K.

The reported phenomenon:

  • only when pointed directly at a very bright light source a grid of red dot flares shows in the image

It has not been determined whether specific characteristics of the setup used by the reporting user are part in evoking this phenomenon. Rawlite is investigating this.
